Cris Harper has worked with families as a Birth Doula since May of 1999 when she was trained by DONA in Raleigh, NC. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Family and Consumer Sciences from Meredith College, with minors in Child Development and Nutrition. Cris left North Carolina to attend the Focus on the Family Institute in Colorado Springs, CO, and from there she moved to San Diego in December 2000. She met and married her husband in 2001. Cris worked as Client Services Director at the Pregnancy Resource Center in Oceanside before becoming a stay-at-home mom. Cris is the mother of six children- infant twins born January 2015 and four older children aged 5 to 12. She has given birth in a hospital setting, a birth center, and at home. She has attended over 80 births before, in between, and after her own during the 16 years that she has been a Doula. Cris is a Certified Doula through DONA International and is an Alpha Instructor, offering Christ-centered childbirth classes in North County. Her own pregnancy losses led her to also train as a loss doula with Stillbirthday in Fall 2012. She loves everything related to pregnancy, birth, and mothering.
